At All Costs

“Anyone with a pair of eyes can see I am trying to avoid that guard at all costs. But it’s like what you said. He is set on making my life miserable, and I fear sooner than later he will make good on his bulling.”

A Heavy Burden

Allowing myself to finally speak the unthinkable, and although I may have felt a heavy burden had been lifted, you could hear my frustration over the whole horrific mess. Stevi’s expression of empathy spoke volumes and, keeping her emotions under wraps for both our sake, she then spoke up.

Formal Compliant

“No use making a formal complaint through the proper channels, which leaves you with only one option left. Dare I say it, but I’m sure you already know what I am alluding too.”

Get A Grip

Seeing how I was doing my level best to get a grip on my tattered emotions. I nodded in recognition. Stevi, seeing my own severe state of affairs, was the one to speak the most forbidden word in our predicament.

Best Bet Is To Escape

“Okay, so we’re both in agreement. Your best bet is to escape, and your only chance of any kind of success would have to be at the warehouse. Now a word of caution. Whatever you do, do not breathe a word of this to anyone but me. And do not worry. You’ll see, somehow everything manages to work out in the end.”

My Torments

We shared a forthcoming smile of agreement, and when this eventful ride came to an end. I was once more left to my own devices and thankful to the Lord for dear friends like Stevi. But with the thought of looking forward to some sort of conclusion to my torments, I came to learn right quick the right time for taking such an action was taking its time in coming and night after night as the guard grew more emboldened.

[2] AUTHOR’S COMMENTARY

An all-consuming malevolent force is swiftly enveloping the globe, and here is Lily living in bondage, knowing she must now take matters into her own hands, or she is done for in a hostile landscape oppressing the Bible believing Christian.

[1]Author’s Commentary

One of the classic American past times of escape has been the classic road trip, driving down an open road, and letting your mind roam free as a summer breeze comes to renew your outlook on life. But for some, such as the character Lily living in the first decades of the 21st Century, whereas perhaps not even a year ago, are now considered as the ‘Good Old Days,’ it is becoming quite visible to Lily by the hour of each passing day, there is no means of escape the ‘Wicked Beast Cabal’ on the rise.

[3]Author’s Commentary

The bare necessities of life, such as food and shelter, are currently not even on Lily’s radar. The only recourse she can now take to protect her virtue, is to just run like the wind, and so desperate is she, Lily prefers rather to suffer the elements in the wide-open spaces of the great outdoors, than to suffer humiliation at the hands of her captures.

[4] AUTHOR’S COMMENTARY

Lily is willing to risk it all, which includes even the dangers of the unknown, to be out of reach of the immoral force at work to make her life miserable.

Cause Me To Escape

[5] AUTHOR’S COMMENTARY

Not in a million years did she ever preconceive such an awful predicament should ever find its way on her doorstep, and yet here she is. Knowing she must undertake this perilous journey alone, and suffer the consequences. Lily’s biggest regret by far is leaving the hope that love brings such as a handsome suitor come to call. Nothing seems crueler to Lily as being forced to leave behind all her hopes and dreams of ‘True Love.”

[6] AUTHOR’S COMMENTARY

Lily coming to terms with her, such as it is thus far and putting it gently, a challenging life story, there be but one tried and true hope for Lily, and this be the Lord to guide her every step of the way, and Lily may find it difficult to see sunny days ahead through the muck and the mire of unkindness. But in her most desperate of hours she holds dearly onto her faith, for the things hoped for, and for those things not seen as it is written in Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
