“Shut up! And I’ll be the one to ask the questions here! Now, Mr, Everett, if you are serious about getting your family through this night without any hardships, you and your family had better cooperate fully and do whatever you are told.

Am I Making myself clear!” Dad responded by trying to be the voice of reason. “Yes, of course. But there must be some mistake. You must have the wrong house. I assure you my family and I have done nothing wrong.”
We all then come to learn right quick there was no reasoning with brutality, and in the same like manner before, the very same foul-mouth brute who ignored Dad’s common sensibilities from the start finally got to the heart of the matter for this unwelcome visit.”

All in good conscious Lily cannot allow herself to reason away the meaning for this disdainful encounter, of which she alone might be responsible. Lily feels helpless to prevent the forthcoming series of brutalities. And on this night she experiences a paradigm shift. Coming to find there in no longer a safe harbor for her, and to her soulful heart this includes the place she once called HOME.
Lily’s sensibilities surmise the world is on a downward spiral to the deepest darkest mountains of the earth and she to was now about to be propelled on the same godless trajectory as it is written in Jonah 2:6, I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast though brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

Startled out of bed by the blatant pounding at the front door. Lily for propriety sake quickly slipped on her slippers and her matching pale yellow quilted robe over her floor length flannel nightgown, to straightaway run out the door to meet up with her mom and dad and her two younger brothers in the hallway.
The family is bewildered by this turn of events, because it is none other than the authorities demanding entry into their home.
Lily begins to explore the possibilities for such an unwelcome visit, and hoping against hope. She is of the mind this intrusion into their lives is just one big misunderstanding, and this to shall pass.
