[2] The pain of which was instantaneous, and speaking up in the usual vulgar manner, he told me to keep my mouth shut as he prepared to take me downstairs. Upon stressing his point that my family would be the ones to suffer if I so much as made a peep, and pretty much not caring if I should respond to him or not, I took the hint and kept my opinions to myself.

Author’s Commentary
HOME is where a country’s virtuous ideals are woven into the carefully preserved framed photographs hanging along the walls of a stairwell to commemorate the milestones of a happy family’s treasured beloved images of yesteryear.
Displayed reflections of a lovely daughter, whom, like her images on the walls is held with little to no regard by those whom the Bible refers to as the ‘Menstealers!’
A staircase which once led Lily to the happy trimmings of a happy home.
Will now leave her with the solemn memory of uninvited shadows of the night come to whisk her away from all that she has ever known and loved.
Urgently Lily makes a solemn pledge to herself on this horrific night. Lily vows to live on her terms as a daughter of the MOST HIGH GOD!
