Chapter 2,
Page 97

[1] I made it to the very back without a glitch. But I knew my biggest hurdle was yet to come when I would have to expose my person to get to the emergency exit door, which was located in the direct view of the center aisle and the patrol of the guards. I knew I still had a long way to go before I should consider myself home free.

I now stood poised and ready on the edge of the aisle well hidden behind a stack of boxes covering my total person. I knew the timing had to be nothing less than perfect, because if by chance something should go amiss at such a critical juncture. I knew I would most assuredly very much so end up in a HEAP OF TROUBLE!

I took a peek out from my hiding place to see if the coast were clear, and it appeared so with all of the guards attentions focused forward. I then said speaking under my breath and just before stepping out into the open aisle. “Well, here goes everything, LORD. Help me to make this happen. I ask in Jesus name.”

[2] Quickly but quietly I made my way to the exit door, and just before pressing down onto the handlebar. I took a split second to prepare myself to run like the wind. When to my extreme shock and dismay. I heard someone or something moving behind me. Too terrified to move, I thought I was found out! But in the very next moment I momentarily became frighten when an impassioned whisper called out to me from behind.

Stop. Please stop, because you’re taking an awful risk.”

My heart then leapt with joy because I just then realized who had spoken out with such tender regards. There was no failing to recognize this selfsame tenderheartedness of voice. When I saw this very same caring spirit night after night reaching out to me with his loving eyes, I should have known Rawlands would be watching out for me as always, and with my emotions leading the way. I turned to face him. When our eyes met, he lifted his hand to welcome mine. Not to comply to his wishes would be like discarding loveliness itself.

Turned to Face Him

Author’s Commentary

[1] Lily, an unpretentious outward beauty, is but a reflection of the genuine loveliness of faith shinning from within, amiable qualities indeed, but this same quality of character left her in peril with only one option, to make a run for it as if her life depended on it, because frankly, it did! Lily was determined to escape the tyranny of forced labor and the constant unwelcome advances of the enemy.

But it seemed ironic to Lily how can this be the same world she recalled from the first vestiges of a homespun childhood. Abiding now in the present world to her own disadvantage, held captive, and vulnerable to unwarranted activity as it written in 1st John 3:13, Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hates you.

Figuring desperate times, call for desperate measures, and under such despicable circumstances. Lily concludes she must now flee to preserve her virtue. And to do anything less, would definitely lead to her total ruin!

Poised and ready to put it all physically on the line to avert the hounding of one of the ‘Global Tyrannical Regine,’ flunkies. Lily begins to make her move toward ‘Freedom of Liberty,’ and coming to the most critical juncture of her dangerous endeavor, where there will be no turning back.

Turned To Face Him

[2] Lily takes a fraction of a second to pause and reconsiders taking this extreme measure, but promptly rationalizes, there is nothing to go back to except a certainly of moral indignation.

Lily is fully committed and ready to push down on the door handlebar to the promise land of independence. When suddenly a benevolent whisper is heard from behind! She instantly recognizes the kindly importation, and it is well with her vibrant beautiful soul pulsating with life to take the risk to turn back around.

Proven his quality to be ‘Tried and True,’ there stands Rawlands raising his hand to welcome Lily to come and take the position at his side. Complying to his caring gesture Lily feels like she is floating on air as she draws near to the possibility of loves devotions now at long last within her grasp.
